What counts as a session?

A session is one complete USSD interaction between a user and your application, from the moment they dial your shortcode to when the session ends by the user exiting, timing out or completing the flow. Multiple menu selections within the same interaction count as a single session.

What happens if my wallet balance hits zero?

Your USSD flows stop processing new sessions until you top up. We email you at 20% and 5% balance so you have time to top up before any interruption. Sessions already in progress always complete.

Can I top up any amount, or is there a minimum?

The minimum top-up is GHS 10. There is no maximum; you can pre-load as much credit as you need. Unused balance never expires.

Which USSD providers and aggregators are supported?

Asterisks supports Africa's Talking, Hubtel, Nalo Solutions and Arkesel. If your provider isn't listed, email support@useasterisks.com and we'll prioritise the integration.

How does the Growth plan discount work?

The Growth plan gives you 20% off (GHS 0.020 per session instead of GHS 0.025) when you commit to at least 200,000 sessions a quarter through prepaid billing. You buy a session bundle upfront and sessions draw from it.

Is there a free tier?

Yes. Every new account gets its first 1,000 sessions free, with no card required. That is enough to test your flows in production before spending anything.

Do you offer SLAs and uptime guarantees?

Growth customers get a 99.5% uptime SLA. Enterprise customers get a 99.9% SLA with a 4-hour response time for critical issues. Pay-as-you-go customers run on the same infrastructure on a best-efforts basis.

Can I export my flows or move away?

Yes. You can export every flow as JSON from the builder at any time. Your data belongs to you, so there is no lock-in.
