Features
Everything here is in the builder today. The two things that aren't are listed at the bottom.
Build
A flow is a set of steps on a canvas, joined by the replies that lead between them.
- Nine node types
- Entry Point, Choice Menu, Ask a Question, Flash Alert, Smart Router, Sub-flow, Send Data, Collect Payment and End Session.
- Variables
- Answers to questions and responses from your API are saved to variables you can use in any later screen or routing rule.
- Templates
- Start from a complete flow and edit it: restaurant ordering, customer feedback, voting and polls, airtime and data purchase, and event ticketing.
- Ewurasi, the AI assistant
- Describe the service in a sentence and Ewurasi lays out a first draft on the canvas for you to edit.
Test
Check every branch before a customer dials it.
- Phone simulator
- Dial the flow on an on-screen phone and reply to each screen as a customer would. Steps that call your API call it for real.
Work together
- Invite by email
- Give teammates access to a project from the share dialog.
- Share a link
- Let anyone with the link view the flow, or edit it.
- Live cursors
- See where everyone else is working on the canvas while you edit.
Go live
- Four aggregators
- Hubtel, Nalo Solutions, Arkesel and Africa's Talking. See integrations
- Publish to a shortcode
- Enter your shortcode, set your aggregator's callback URL to the one Asterisks gives you, and publish.
- Your own API
- Send Data nodes call any HTTPS endpoint, so balances, orders and accounts stay in your systems.
Run it
- Live session traffic
- Active sessions, average duration and load per aggregator, with a transcript of each session.
- Audit logs
- Search deployments, API calls and account changes, and export them as CSV, Excel or PDF.
- Prepaid wallet
- Sessions are charged from a wallet you top up, and you can track usage in your account settings. See pricing
Not available yet
Both have a place in the builder already, and neither is switched on.
- Datastore
- Keep records, such as registrations or votes, inside Asterisks without your own database.
- Per-project integrations
- Connect a project directly to tools such as Google Sheets.
